Summary of Experience
Ms. Tiedrich is a recognized practitioner in AI, data, and emerging technologies. She works at the intersection of technology, business, law, and policy. Her expertise includes helping organizations unlock innovation, manage risk, and address governance, data, intellectual property, corporate, and policy matters. Ms. Tiedrich served as a senior AI advisor to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, as a consultant and expert for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI), and as a member of the EU working group on AI codes of practice. She was also a senior adviser to the2025 and 2026 International Scientific Report on the Safety of Advanced AI, supported by more than 30 countries and multilateral organizations. Before joining academia, Ms. Tiedrich was a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, where she co-led the global, multidisciplinary AI practice. She has held faculty positions at Duke University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Maryland. Additionally, she serves on the editorial board of the Journal of AI Law and Regulation and has published in policy and academic outlets. Ms. Tiedrich has presented at international organizations, including the World Intellectual Property Organization, the World Bank, and the Council on Foreign Relations. She is also an electrical engineer and is admitted to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
