Dr. Accordino specializes in energy and finance-related litigation, antitrust cases, and regulatory matters. Her expertise includes analyzing competition concerns in mergers and market-based rate authority applications in the electric power industry and allegations of market manipulation in energy and commodity markets. Dr. Accordino’s regulatory experience includes developing a cost-of-service study for PJM Interconnection, analyzing utilities’ investment and operational decisions under regulatory principles, and analyzing utility rate plans in light of market conditions and their impacts on stakeholders. She has also analyzed recent and proposed changes to wholesale electricity market design as well as analyzed liability, loss causation, and damages in commercial damages and securities litigation matters, including cases involving public utilities. Dr. Accordino has written about market definition in electric power markets, the market and ratemaking implications of co-located load, offshore wind procurement practices, and greenhouse gas emissions policies. Her work has appeared in The Electricity Journal, The Energy Journal, and the ABA Economics Committee Newsletter.
