Interview Resources

Congratulations on receiving an interview with Analysis Group! Below, please find various resources to help you prepare for your upcoming conversations. For any additional questions, please reach out to your recruiting point of contact.

Preparing for your interview

  • Learn about AG by reviewing our work, staff highlights, and latest news. The Pear TV Damages sample case provides more information about our litigation-based work, and the Relaxicalm sample study provides more information about our health care work.
  • Familiarize yourself with the role and economic consulting. Reflect on how your experience aligns with the role responsibilities.
  • Think of key areas relevant to the role to highlight from your educational and professional experience.
  • Practice framing your answers with focus: What was the situation, what was your goal, what actions did you take, what was the result, and what did you learn from the experience?
  • Show curiosity by preparing a few questions to ask your interviewers.
  • Review directions for accessing our buildings, parking information, and more prior to arrival.

You’ll be assessed on these key areas

What we might ask

  • Walk me through a project or experience in which you had to analyze data.
    • What kind of modeling or statistical programming languages did you use and why did this seem like the right approach? What were some of the challenges you faced?
    • How did you decide what approach to take in your analysis?
    • What assumptions did you make, and how did you test them?
    • How did you assess the quality or reliability of the data, tools, or other inputs you used, including any AI-generated outputs? How did that affect your approach?
    • Were there any unexpected results or inconsistencies, and how did you investigate them?
    • If you had more time, what would you explore next, and why?
  • Please describe a time when you were able to persuade someone of your point of view.
  • Please describe a project or task where things were not going as planned.
  • How did you communicate these challenges to others? What action steps did you take as a result?
  • Tell me about a time when you worked with a team with backgrounds and experiences different than yours. What did you learn from this experience?
  • Ph.D. Candidates: Please be prepared to explain your job market paper or research project in detail.

Where you can learn more

How do I know which office I am being considered for?

Your interview confirmation email will indicate the office for which you are currently under consideration. You can also log into iCIMS at any time to view your application status, which includes the office associated with your application. If you have any questions or if your geographic preferences have changed, please reach out to your recruiter.

How are interviews structured?

  • Interviews are behavioral-based. There will be an opportunity to ask questions about the role and AG.
  • For first-round interviews, you will virtually meet with 1-2 consultants for 30 minutes.
  • For final-round interviews, you will meet in-person with a series of consulting team members.
  • Note that interview schedules may vary based on office location.

Are case studies a part of the interview?

While formal case studies are not part of the interview process, you may be asked scenario-based questions that resemble case-style prompts. These are designed to assess how you think through problems and approach work in a way that aligns with the type of work we do at AG. To prepare, we recommend crafting a clear, structured story about a project you've worked on. Focus on articulating your role, how you approached the challenges, and the impact of your contributions.

I am interviewing for a role within the HEOR, Epidemiology & Market Access team. Are there any additional resources that I should review as I prepare

We recommend exploring the HEOR, Epidemiology & Market Access section of our website to gain a deeper understanding of the team’s work and focus area. We also advise reviewing the Relaxicalm Study to learn about the different stages of some of our health care work and the roles our consultants play in the life cycle of a real-world drug study.

What should I wear?

We recommend wearing business casual attire.

When will I hear back?

You will typically hear back from AG within 2 weeks following a first-round interview and 3 weeks following a final-round interview.

What if I have a competing offer?

Please let your recruiter know as soon as possible so that they can best support you with any next steps.
